Recently, DOBE, together with Shanghai Creative Industries Demonstration and Service Platform, was invited by Industrie Forum Design Hannover (iF for short) to attend the “iF Design Awards Night 2012”, which was held in BMW Welt in Munich, Germany. About 1,600 global honored guests from commercial, cultural and political circles were present on this ceremony on 10 February, and the spectacular ceremony was lasted until the mid night.
Since the establishment in 1954, iF Industrie Forum Design Hannover, the oldest Germany industry design institute, has regularly organized the award activity. iF design award is internationally famous and called as “Design Oscar” by European media. iF certified products always stand for products with excellent design. iF award becomes an guarantee of best sellers worldwide and represents the excellent design.
During this activity, 44 reviewers discussed and evaluated 4,322 entries by 1,605 participants from 48 countries. Eventually, 1,218 entries were rewarded iF design award after a series of selections, and the top 100 of those were presented with iF gold award on the ceremony. What struck DOBE President Jia Bo most is the design of a wheel among all the award-winning entries, “This is just a small wheel used for trolley case when compared with automobiles, but creatively adding a spring makes the vibration greatly reduced and the use become more smoothly. Although it is a small design, the society generously gives the honor and money to it. The state respects and values the innovation and technology.” Jia Bo said.
The government of China also pays increasing attention to the development of cultural and creative industries from “production” to “creation”. The 12th Five Year Plan intends to build the cultural and creative industries into the national pillar industries and realize the leap from “production” to “creation”. The departments at all levels then shall give increasing supports to the relevant industries. As the service provider of Chinese cultural and creative industries, DOBE will continuously make further exploration to boost the industrial development.
It is learnt that this travel to Europe enables DOBE to reach cooperation intentions with some overseas cultural and creative institutions and enterprises. DOBE wishes to help Chinese enterprises to go global through such cooperation and improve China’s creation capacity.
