Recently, the matchmaking meeting for the first project of Creative Industries Investment Funds Alliance (CIIFA) has been held in Shanghai Creative Industries Demonstration and Service Platform with participants of eight CIIFA members including DOBE, etc. Upon systematically assessment, Shanghai Children's Book Space Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Sinnsa Group Co., Ltd. have made their stages at the promotion show.
CIIFA is initiated and established by Shanghai Creative Industries Demonstration and Service Platform Management Center uniting with eight enterprises of DOBE, Shanghai Guosheng Group Co., Ltd., Sequoia Capital (China), Haitong Creative Capital Management Co., Ltd., INCUFORTUNE, Infiniti (Shanghai) Creative Investment Management Co., Ltd., Bluepoint Investment and Stone Capital. It has the management capital of total 28.2 billion Yuan after converted into RMB and focuses on and supports investments for projects of the creative design industry. Since its official establishment from 8 August of this year, the funds service center, upon screening the existing Casermation, had firstly carried out on-the-spot investigation to 19 enterprises related to the creative design industry, involving with several creative design fields, such as industrial design, fashion design, operation management of creative industry cluster district, internet application and development, etc.
“China is in need of ‘Steve Jobs’ and products like ‘Apple’ which seizes the world market.” said by Wen Jiabao, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, while he made an on-the-spot investigation to Suzhou Industrial Park in December of this year. Two companies that made their stages on this show have been striding forward just under this goal. At the matchmaking meeting, investors showed their great interests on the two key recommended projects and communicated enthusiastically. Investors said, after the meeting, they were very interesting projects which seemed to belong to traditional manufacturing enterprises while combining with their own capacities of design and R&D and the capacity of channel building, extending towards the two ends of “Smile curve” to greatly improve the development level of enterprises and make them provided with investment value.
It’s said that CIIFA will organize more similar promotion shows for projects in the next year. By recommendation from cultural and creative industry offices of each district and county, commissions of economy and Casermationization in each district and county, creative industry cluster districts and experts and by adopting means including statistical caliber for screening, etc., the funds service center will continue discovering excellent, development-potential Shanghai local creative design enterprises which will be recommended to members of the alliance to help them rapidly developed. In view of the characteristic of creative design enterprise being mainly SMEs, CIIFA will plan to absorb in more angel investment, VC and call for participation of financing institutions such as banks. In addition, CIIFA will also help its members to deepen their understanding on creative design industry by organizing activities, such as member salon, etc.
