As one of a series of activities to promote its brand WE” TALK under Dobe Group WE", Dobe has worked with Mr. Stefano Boeri, father of A Vertical Forest and the famous Italian architectural design master for the first time to create an activity with a keynote speech centered on crossover design in Dobe WE” International Hub@BUND on October 21st. As one of a series of activities to promote its brand “WE” TALK under Dobe Group "WE", it has explored various possibilities for ways of working in the future. In every episode, it will invite masters from various fields including fashion, design, technology, innovation and capital to make their voice heard by people from the outside in different forms like forums, speeches, debate and talk show, etc.
In this episode, here we have Mr. Boeri who is not only the chief planner of 2015 Milan Expo but also the chief designer of Dobe WE” International Hub@BUND project. Mr. Boeri has made his first public sharing of his Special Crossover Design, the Crystal Crown he has made for the Most Beautiful Community Angel of the First International Community Festival in 2016 at the event. International Community Festival is a grand event held by Dobe every year with promoting the development and improvement of cultural and technological innovation industry as its principle which brings together masters and white-collar elites from cultural and technological innovation enterprises. The large show for the white-collar under the Most Beautiful Community Angel has especially attracted wide participation from white-collar employees across the circle. The Crystal Crown, trophy for the champion of the Most Beautiful Community Angel is the precious masterpiece of Mr. Boeri in this crossover design.
During the activity, Mr. Boeri has played a film about cities in the future and talked about the significance of A Vertical Forest together with issues like urban life, natural environment, carbon emission of architecture, etc. For architecture in A Vertical Forest, trees, shrubs and herbs can be planted along the outer wall. This kind of multi-functional high-store architecture will not only be towering buildings in the world but also preserve a rich ecological and cultural diversity.
Mr. Boeri said that the design of the Crystal Crown was inspired by silhouettes of different architecture in various regions in the world. The main body of the Crystal Crown is silver which is constituted by a base of 18-karat gold and columns of pure crystal. The alternative short and long columns of pure crystal stand for silhouettes of famous architecture all over the world.
The designed crown is a metaphor for enterprises of various sizes in Dobe’s Smart Circle and different individuals in the community. Jia Bo, president of Dobe Group said, "Of all 5,000 enterprises in Dobe's circle, there are large companies like towering trees as well as small- and medium-sized companies in their developing stage like shrubs and brushwood. But they all grow in an interconnected economic forest where every living thing is thriving and booming." Dobe's wish is to help smart companies cooperate with each other and enjoy better development through connecting all 5,000 companies and 100,000 white-collar employees inside its circle.
Dobe Group has signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement with Boeri Architecture office of Italy in Shanghai earlier in October 2014 and expressed the idea of introducing the most advanced green ecological theory in the world into China in the future. The two sides have cooperated in the design of DOBE WE” International Hub@BUND project in 2015. Mr. Boeri has introduced the concept of A Vertical Forest this time and brought air, green and vitality into architecture so as to make the office environment more vigorous and energetic, hence providing new life for the original Shanghai Chinese Stock Exchange Building. After this, we have also cooperated in the project of Dobe E-Manor of Dongxi, Hangzhou.
During the activity, Jia Bo, president of Dobe Group has specially made this Crystal Crown for him as a present in an effort to thank Mr. Boeri for his thoughtful design. Jiabo said, "I share many ideas with Mr. Boeri as for architecture and office environment in the future. Elements like ecological, green and vitality have always been the direction of our circle design." This cooperation in crossover design is of great significance. The crossover work of Mr. Boeri is not only a crossover design but also a witness of bilateral friendship between China and Italy.
Mr. Boeri has also engaged in interaction and exchanges with the media and answered relevant questions of crossover design and the design of urban and rural architecture from the reporters. People from various circles of life including fashion, architecture and design present at the meeting have also said that they have benefited a lot from Mr. Boeri's sharing of his experience in creation. The crossover experience between architecture and industrial design has also offered more possibilities for the crossover design among different fields.
