On July 3, Digital Sculpture Exhibition “Marble Codes” officially opened in Shanghai & Florence——Sino Italian Design Exchange Center’s (Florence Base) Digital Sculpture Exhibition Site constructed by DOBE.
This exhibition is jointly held by Sino Italian Design Exchange Center, ARTEX and Garfagnana Innovazione. It coincides with the opening of the off-site event of China Corporate United Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015 ——“2015 Shanghai & Florence-The Season for Creation of Two Cities” in Sino Italian Design Exchange Center. As a close partner of Sino Italian Design Exchange Center, ARTEX gladly accepted the Center’s invitation, and brought its annual Digital Sculpture Exhibition to the stage of “The Season for Creation of Two Cities”. More than 60 sculptors from China, Italy, America, Austria attended the opening ceremony and held an international academic forum under the theme “3D Printing——Artistic Design and Handicrafts”.
Digital Sculpture Exhibition “Marble Codes” has been opened to citizens and tourists from around the world on July 3. During the 3-week exhibition, visitors can admire Garfagnana Innovazione’s marble works carved by the world’s most advanced digital robot, and witness the perfect combination of modern cutting-edge technology and Italian traditional carving. The Mayor of Munucciano, Mr. Poley highly commended the exhibition. He thinks this exhibition filled up the gap between classic fine arts and advanced technology, and displayed the pursuit and exploration of beauty in technology on the best stones of Italy. He hopes Garfagnana Innovazione can bring more and more international cooperation between Italy and China as Sino Italian Design Exchange Center does.
Sino Italian Design Exchange Center and ARTEX will take this cooperation as a start, widely invite Chinese universities, handicraft enterprises and inheritors of traditional handicrafts to carry out craftsmanship training, artistic design exhibitions, enterprise visits, cooperation, and in-depth exchanges in intangible cultural heritage protection and other fields in Italy and China, to jointly improve the platforms for mutual learning and exchanges between the two countries’ creative design industries, promote the exchanges and project cooperation in design and teaching between the two sides.
