On June 11, Creative Economy –Shanghai Design “Belt” & “Road” Forum was held in Shanghai & Florence- Sino Italian Design Exchange Center (Florence Base) constructed by DOBE.
This forum was sponsored by Shanghai Service Platform for City of Design, co-sponsored by Hiker Creative Union, Urban-Rural Environment Design Service Platform for City of Design, Shanghai Multimedia Industry Display and Service Platform, and supported by Shanghai& Florence- Sino Italian Design Exchange Center, Create Network, ACIA and Fasheng hand in hand.
The forum specially invited Prof. Su Dan, Person in Charge of the design of China Pavilion for Expo Milan 2015 and Sub-dean of Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, Yuan Yangming, Curator of Aquatic Venice-Italy China United Pavilion for Expo Milan 2015, as honored guests to attend the forum with designers from Shanghai and Florence, Italy. Meanwhile, at the forum, an inauguration was held for the Creative Trip of Hiker Creative Union and Urban-Rural Environment Design.
The forum had interaction and exchange about the theme of grasping the opportunity of “One Belt, One Road” construction to improve Shanghai’s design strength, expand the influence of Shanghai design. Honored guests present expressed their ideas and opinions through their own cases. In the exchange and interaction, they also thought “One Belt, One Road” would be a good platform. The significance derived from the Silk Road will more be found in exchange. It will trigger multiple possibilities for the communication and cross-border cooperation between the West and the East. This platform can let more people produce sparks in communication, and give birth to industrial upgrading and economic benefits in exchanges. Such exchanges are full-round dialogues on talent cultivation, industry optimization, capital fusion, professional technology, and craftsmanship. The platform will bring infinite possibilities and opportunities to the people of the two countries.
Prof. Su Dan, Person in Charge of the design of China Pavilion for Expo Milan 2015 and Sub-dean of Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, was invited as an honored guest. He introduced the design concept and implementation process of China Pavilion for Expo Milan, and shared his exploration and attempt to use an international design language to spread Chinese culture. Based on his experience over the years, he stressed the importance of education in creative design. Prof. Su pointed out that only when design became the carrier for technology and culture popularization and application through professional training and lots of cases and practice, could creative design play its role in promoting a country’s economy and culture. Afterward, Mr. Ni Haijun, founder of Fasheng, who has long devoted himself to talent cultivation, shared his experience over the 3 years running Fasheng. This platform wants to improve Shanghai’s design strength through designer training, to let designers look at design outside design and realize bigger creative value.
Mr. Budiman, Founder and Chairman of ACIA expressed his willingness to let more Shanghai and Asian designers go to the world through the efforts of ACIA. Yuan Yangming, Curator of Aquatic Venice-Italy China United Pavilion for Expo Milan 2015, expressed he would continue to build a communication bridge between the enterprises and designers of Shanghai and the enterprises and designers of Italy.
During the forum, representatives from Sino Italian Design Exchange Center carefully listened to and recorded the cases and ideas from all circes. Those precious experience and advice will be effectively used in the Center’s work in the next stage, optimize the Center’s talent cultivation, indsutrial exchange, cross-border cooperation and other services better for enterprises, and arouse the vitality and inspiration of Shanghai and international design.
