On March 20th, the “ISSI Award of the World” Sino-Italian Industrial Design Competition jointly organized by Shanghai& Florence Sino Italian Design Exchange Center, Shanghai Industrial Design Association, Francesco Armato Studio, and Suzhou ISSI Design Company, held a launching press conference in Sino Italian Design Exchange Center’s Florence Base. China Central Television, El Pais, ANSA and other media witnessed the launch of the competition.
At the press conference, Mr. Ji Gang, Consul of the Chinese Consulate General in Florence, Mr. Bettarini, Deputy Mayor of Florence, Prof. Francesco Armato, and Sino Italian Design Exchange Center’s Administrative Director Mr. Galli had exchanges with Chinese and Italian designers, and discussed Sino-Italian design exchange and transnational talent exchanges between universities, and other topics in depth.
“ISSI Award of the World” Industrial Design Competition mainly collects design works from Chinese and Italian young designers. The competition’s content is divided into 3 categories, namely household articles, office supplies, jewelry. Besides the prizes provided by the competition’s organizing committee, winners also have chances to sign contracts with international design studios, design companies, and the precious opportunity to realize mass production and market launch for their works.
Sino Italian Design Exchange Center has long been devoted to promoting Sino-Italian cultural and creative exchanges. In this competition, the Center not only brought its platform advantage into full play, but also got great support from the Government of Florence. It also invited Shanghai Industrial Design Association to participate, which further enhanced the transnational design competition’s authority and international influence.
To encourage more design teams and entrepreneurs’ participation, Sino Italian Design Exchange Center will hold a series of design competitions in 2015, invite design masters, famous universities, famous enterprise all over the world to participate, make efforts to create a top competition in Chinese design community, show China’s brilliant transformation from “made in China” to “designed in China” to the whole world, and accelerate Chinese cultural and creative industry’s cross-border integration with world first-rate concepts.
