On Nov. 13, the 2nd China Ethnic Regions Fair for Investment & Trade 2017 (hereinafter referred to as Ethnic Regions Fair) opened at Beijing Hotel’s International Conference Center. This Ethnic Regions Fair carefully studied the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Under the theme “Seize Major Opportunities in "Belt and Road", Support Harmonious Development of Ethnic Regions”, it fully gave play to the role of social organizations in the new era, stuck to the center, served the general situation, focused on the ethnic regions’ needs in economic and social development, built platforms, provided public services, promoted exchanges, communication, integration, common prosperity and development of different ethnic groups.
This Ethnic Regions Fair was ratified by the Ministry of Commerce and co-sponsored by China Council for the Promotion of Nationalities Trade (CCPNT), The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, Macao Chamber of Commerce, Association of Native and Ethnic Minorities on Both Sides of the Taiwan Strait. The State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Ministry of Commerce, CPPCC Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Beijing Pairing Assistance and Economic Cooperation Steering Group’s Office, democratic parties’ social service department, China NGO Network for International Exchanges, Chinese Association for International Understanding were endorsers for this Ethnic Regions Fair.
105 government delegation at all levels from ethnic regions, more than 900 central enterprises, state-owned enterprises, private companies and 44 social organizations, 13 overseas institutions, 18 overseas enterprises participated in the fair, carried out government and enterprise promotions and negotiations for key projects, product trade, patent technology. Project contracts worth more than 12 billion Yuan were signed. DoBe Group’s President Jia Bo was invited to attend the event.
It is understood at the 2nd International Community Festival’s opening ceremony, DoBe and CCPNT released and signed a strategic cooperation agreement. DoBe Group’s President Jia Bo introduced: “in the future, DoBe Group and CCPNT will have cooperation in three aspects: (1) cooperation will be implemented in DoBe Group’s 2nd cultural park at Longtan Lake in Beijing; (2) CCPNT "one township, one product" will jointly build the park at Longtan Lake in Beijing with DoBe Group; (3) Longtan Lake project will open a specific ethnic project exhibition area for the display and publicity of ethnic products. This series of cooperation will perfectly realize links from resources to space. This also fits DoBe Group’s “smart circle” strategy. It will link resources and enterprises, enterprises and people, people and people to achieve common growth.
In the future, DoBe and CCPNT will introduce various cultural, creative, sci-tech and innovative enterprises engage in advertising, design and media, build a resource platform for ethnic enterprises, support and serve ethnic trade in finance and policy, promote ethnic products better, display ethnic projects. This Ethnic Regions Fair was held after the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. It is a large public benefit event that is guided by Xi Jinping’s thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, follows the “5-in-1” overall arrangement and “4 comprehensive” strategic arrangement, actively implements Xi Jinping’s “Silk Road Economic Belt” and "21st Century Maritime Silk Road " Initiative, gives full play to domestic and overseas social organizations’ resource advantage and platform advantage, considers ethnic regions’ needs in economic and social development, actively promotes ethnic regions to blend in and serve the state’s Belt and Road Initiative, combines industry development with accurate poverty alleviation, boosts economic and social development in ethnic minority regions, meets ethnic compatriots’ new expectations in the new era.
Lan Jun, Secretary and Executive Deputy Chairman of CCPNT attended the opening ceremony and gave a welcoming speech. Lan Jun said in the report at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, from the height of party and national development, President Xi Jinping expounded the role of social organizations in social governance, people's livelihood, deliberative democracy, pointed out the direction for social organizations’ reform and development. Lan Jun pointed out in the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, it’s social organizations’ responsibility to give full play to their platform advantage, promote economic and social development in ethnic regions, strengthen ethnic regions’ role and value in the construction of Belt and Road. Only if we don’t forget our original intention, remember our mission, create a new atmosphere and make new achievements, can we create new achievements worthy of the new era and serve the people of all ethnic groups, meet the new expectations of our fellow citizens. Our task is to meet ethnic regions’ needs. Our dream is national rejuvenation.
Nearly 2,000 people attended the opening ceremony and Ethnic Regions Fair, including NPC Vice Chairman Qiangba Puncog, CPPCC former Vice Chairman Bai Lichen, democratic parties’ leaders, some leaders from the central government and ministries, some leaders from social organizations.
CPPCC Standing Committee Member and CPPCC Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs Director Zhu Weiqun said in his speech the report at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly pointed out we should deepen ethnic unity education, cast the consciousness of national community, strengthen contact, exchanges and integration between various ethnic groups, to make all ethnic group hold together like pomegranate seeds, fight together for common prosperity and development. CCPNT is a comprehensive social organization which is specialized in serving ethnic regions and promoting ethnic regions’ economic and trade development. Over the past three decades, CCPNT has carried out a series of effective work in ethnic regions, poverty-stricken areas and revolutionary old areas, and won praise from ethnic cadres and people. We hope on the basis of summarizing past work experience, CCPNT can continue to cooperate with the party committee and government, join hands with enterprises and social organizations and other social forces to support the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics and socialist modernization in the new era. We expect more social organizations like CCPNT can more consciously devote themselves to economic and social development in ethnic regions, poverty-stricken area and old revolutionary areas.
Liu Xuhao, Deputy Director General of the Industry Association and Chamber of Commerce Party Construction Bureau of The State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, said in his speech that the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China determined the development strategy of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, pointed out the direction for social organizations’ reform and development in the future. It marked social organizations will usher in a new historical opportunity and enter a new stage of development. The grand blueprint reflects our ambition. To realize our dreams, we must do real practice and solid work. CCPNT will turn the strategic arrangements at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China into work ideas, work measures and concrete actions, cooperate with the party committee and government in ethnic work in the new era, give full play to social organizations’ platform advantage, to improve the quality and efficiency of economic development in ethnic regions. It’s a measure of realistic significance, and a concrete measure to practice its duty and mission as a national social organization through actual actions, learn and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in work and real action.
The leaders and guests’ speeches were followed by the signing ceremony for a group of cooperation and investment projects, including the establishment of CCPNT – Tongji University Research Institute. After that, CCPNT Chairman He Liming announced the opening of the 2nd China Ethnic Regions Fair for Investment & Trade.
After the opening ceremony, the Ethnic Regions Fair for Investment & Trade and public benefit party were held successively. As one of the highlights of this year's Ethnic Regions Fair for Investment & Trade, the 2nd China Ethnic Regions Fair for Investment & Trade 2017 officially started as expected. After that, many local government officials and entrepreneurs appeared on the stage to promote their projects and products. Various government delegations and enterprises had talks and negotiations on investment promotion, key projects, product trade and patent technology. The event had a warm atmosphere.
DoBe WE” @ Longtan in Beijing is the first “one town, one product” innovation incubation base. As the first pilot “one town, one product 56 + innovation incubation base”, DoBe and CCPNT will work together to jointly explore a new way to gather enterprises in the park’s physical space to serve the national market.
