On Feb. 2, a photography exhibition entitled “Uncharted” opened at the Shanghai & Florence- Sino Italian Design Exchange Center’s Florence Base constructed by DoBe. Cosponsored by DoBe and ASSOCINA, this exhibition exhibited more than 80 works that show the cultures and local customs of different regions in many European countries, including Italy, France, Greece, Germany, Austria, Spain, etc.
During the exhibition, Zhu Shu, the photographer who took most of the photographs exhibited at the exhibition and a visiting scholar at the University of Florence, carefully explained every photograph’s inspiration for the guests. In the meantime, experts and scholars from the University of Florence and Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze had heated discussion on the theme “Uncharted”. The theme “Uncharted” means to put our inner world in a strange architectural environment and cultural system, lead visitors’ thinking from external buildings into mankind’s inner world by capturing scenes and combining the inertia of history and emotion.
ASSOCINA Chairman Mr. Wang Dongbo said: “It’s partial to interpret uncharted incidents only by experience. In the western cultural system which is distinctly different from our cultural system, this bold perspective is a unique artistic interpretation. By interpreting the differences and great unity between western and eastern cultures, this exhibition opens a window of art for Florence in the spring of 2017.”
