On April 15, an international conference titled “New Silk Road, from Mediterranean to China” was held in the Florence Base of Shanghai &Florence –Sino Italian Design Exchange Center constructed by DOBE. Consul General Wang Fuguo from the Chinese Consulate-General in Florence and Florence Smart City’s government representative Sinome Tani attended and addressed the conference.
This conference was held to link Italy’s green environment-friendly designs with construction projects in China. Influenced by the fast development of the industrial civilization, the limited resources and environment, Italy’s technologies for sustainable development in ecological and energy fields are ahead of the world. China’s “New Silk Road” strategy not only has exerted influence on economy, but also has built a cooperation bridge between Italy’s environment-friendly design philosophy and China’s demand and market in the green environment protection field.
With the SNEC 10th (2016) International Photovoltaic Power Generation Conference & Exhibition to be held in May as the background to the discussion, the conference allied with the Tuscany Branch of ANCE, Florence Architects Association, the International Department of Architecture of the University of Florence, ABITA of the University of Florence, IGD of Italy, Florence’s renewable energy company ETA which won the International Architecture Award at the International Photovoltaic Power Generation Exhibition this time, and many other leading enterprises, to open BIOS Green Building Design Show Rooms in Shanghai and Florence, in order to showcase Italy’s cutting-edge green building designs, as well as the companies’ strengthen and level. This event not only got extensive recognition from the professional green building field, but also got powerful support from overseas Chinese in Italy represented by the Tuscany Branch of Associna.
At the conference, Consul General Wang Fuguo introduced the current situation of China’s energy economy and photovoltaic industry in detail. Florence Smart City’s government representative Mr. Sinome Tani described Florence’s green building technology and sustainable urban planning, expressed high expectations for international cooperation on behalf of Florence Government. CEO of the Florence Base of Sino Italian Design Exchange Center Mr. Corrado Galli summarized the base’s course and experience over the 2 years since it went into operation, put forward detailed work plans and future goals for the platform work to connect Sino-Italian green environmental building technologies. BIOS Green Building Design Show Room Project’s initiators Professor Fernando Recalde and ABITA Chairman Professor Marco Sala from the University of Florence described the prospects for cooperation and wonderful future based on China’s current environment status and architectural culture, integrating Italian green building design philosophy.
As the Chinese partner of BIOS Green Building Design Show Rooms, the Florence Base of Shanghai & Florence –Sino Italian Design Exchange Center links China with Italy for technological and project cooperation.
