On Sept. 28, “Sino-Italian Cultural Road” Sino-Italian Cultural Exchange Party & Exchange Meeting on Living Theatre and Documentary Fly over True Love “Romeo and Juliet” and “Butterfly Lovers” were held in Shanghai & Florence- Sino Italian Design Exchange Center (Florence Base) constructed by DOBE.
The exchange was held on the occasion of Expo Milano and the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Italy. The event was sponsored by Sino-Italian Campus Tongji University, Xiangzi Media, assisted by Shanghai & Florence- Sino Italian Design Exchange Center, Confucius Institute at the University of Florence, Italian Yejie Investment Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Sino-Italian Cultural Exchange and Communication Program’s coordinator Zhang Yongmei presided over the event. Florence Mayor’s Cultural Counselor Tomassi Sacchi, Councilman and Chairman of the 4th Region Mirko Dormentoni, Florence “Long” Film Festival’s Chairman Mr. Riccardo Gelli, persons in charge of Sino-Italian Campus Tongji University, Sino Italian Design Exchange Center (Florence Base), Xiangzi Media also attended the exchange and gave speeches.
Sino-Italian Cultural Exchange Program was initiated in 2014 by Sino-Italian Campus Tongji University and the Culture Department of Italian Consulate in Shanghai. As an international communication platform, it aims to popularize Chinese and Italian cultures, deepen Chinese and Italian people’s mutual understanding, respect and common development through cultural exhibitions, performances, media products, forums, studies, publications, contests. At the meeting, representatives from Sino-Italian Cultural Exchange Program of Sino-Italian Campus Tongji University introduced the program’s results and plans. Representatives from the University of Florence and Florence Municipal Government also expressed their opinions on current Sino-Italian cultural exchange.
This party and living theatre exchange also kicked off the 2015 Documentary Unit Activity of Confucius Institute at the University of Florence, which aims to fuse Chinese culture and Italian culture through diversified cultural communication. In the future, Sino Italian Design Exchange Center will continue to provide a good platform for the two countries’ cultural communication, enhance the two countries’ exchange and development to a higher level.
